WHAT IS ACCA FOUNDATIONS DIPLOMA (AFD)?

If you are interested in pursuing a career in accounting and finance, the ACCA Foundations Diploma (AFD) programme is ideal for preparing you for business finance.

Not only will this programme provide you with the technical knowledge to excel in an accounts and finance related role, but it will also provide you with a smooth transition to the professional ACCA qualification.

Over 12 months, you will be covering each of the following levels of the AFD programme:

Level 1 ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF)

  • FA1 Recording Financial Transactions

  • MA1 Management Information

Level 2 ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF)

  • FA2 Maintaining Financial Records

  • MA2 Management Costs & Finance

Level 3 ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF)

  • FBT Foundations in Business & Technology

  • FMA Management Accounting

  • FFA Financial Accounting

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

You could start the Foundation Diploma after completing:

  • O’ Levels (minimum of 3 passes)
  • Matriculation or
  • Intermediate

EXAM STRUCTURE

  • All exams in the three levels of the AFD qualification are compulsory.
  • Student has to pass total 7 computer-based exam papers
  • On-demand exams can be attempted any month, immediately after completing the preparation.
  • The order sequence between the levels should be followed to develop a strong foundation for the higher-level exams.
  • Passing marks of each paper is 50%

AFD Exemptions

Candidates who have cleared their Intermediate in Commerce (I.Com) exams are eligible for the following two exemptions of the AFD qualification:

  • FA1: Recording Financial Transactions
  • FA2: Maintaining Financial Records

PROGRESSION TO ACCA

Upon completing the Foundation Diploma, students can:

  • Transfer to the ACCA Qualification, Start from LW (Applied Skills Module).
  • Pursue the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Qualification – After completing CAT, students can:
  • Progress to ACCA Qualification from LW onwards.
  • Utilize four performance objectives and one year of work experience toward the three-year ACCA work experience requirement.
